- Clean up fallen branches, needles, cones, and other debris from turf area
- Prune shrubs and trees—aggressively, if needed
- Transplant shrubs and trees—especially large established ones
- Inspect and clean all drainage systems
- Control winter weeds in planting beds
- Clean out gutters in preparation for spring rains
